If i lock the door then shut the door it unlocks . Can't remember if this is the way they work or not .

Dan, after you lock the open door with latch at back of door panel, you must, as you are closing the door hold the door handle button in, then release when closed, your door should be now locked. Barry Holmes- Top

Agreed. My 56 did the same thing, and my 64 does the same thing.
I have to hold the button IN after I have turned the door lock until the door is closed.
I always thought that was a neat feature to keep you from locking you keys in the car by accident- Top

its been a part of the PV on c-1 and c-2"s for years. its probably spelled out in the PV manual, but if it isn't, its been addressed by PV judges since the days of the Lyle Dipstick. the marylandmissile
