'71 Anti-Squeak Fuel Tank Pad Replacement Advice

I'm in the process of replacing the fuel tank in my '71 and need to replace the fuel tank's anti-squeak pads (
GM part numbers were 3763913 and 3937804).

Before I go off and "randomly" purchase a set, d
    oes anyone know who has
the most original looking pads (length, thickness, material, etc)
? Is there a "preferred" NCRS reproduction source for these (Doc Rebuild, Corvette Central, Paragon, etc)?

Or, if nobody reproduces them, does anyone have advice where to purchase the material and how to "re-create" them?
    Appreciate any/all help . . . . .
    Thanks.

Save yourself some money, find a roofer that will sell you enough 30# roofing felt and cut your own strips. Very easy to do with a razor blade or utility knife. We made many sets over the years.

I have heard (?) that today's roofing felt is thinner than the original pads.

See the "Similar Threads" box below for others making the same comment.
If there is a type/brand of the correct thickness I think we'd all like to know.

30# roofing felt. A lot of roofers shortcut and use 20#. With that said, the gas tank, straps, nor the judges would know the difference

I have a whole roll of the correct material. I just need to find a way to ship it. It does not fold without breaking like the original and I have yet to figure out where to get oversized shipping tubes. I have another request I have not yet shipped. Where do you buy shipping tubes? I will help out for the cost of the tube and shipping plus 5 bucks for my time. I may have found some oversized tubes. Text me at 301-440-0838 with shipping info.

              Kind Regards,

              Bill

The U.S. Postal Service has triangular mailing boxes for priority mail. These are 38" in length and are FREE. Of course, the box has to be mailed by Priority Mail. However, for a package containing these pads it will be extremely light.

I can tell you, though, when these pads are shipped from Corvette vendors they are usually shipped rolled up. They can be unrolled and, if desired, very easily flattened prior to installation. It's really not necessary to do this as they will be fully flattened on installation.

                    Thanks everyone for the anti-squeek gas tank material info . . . . .
One final question, before I run off and buy it . . . .
Does anyone have the length & width dimensions of these?
