Extra wires 69 corvette wiper harness

Question, I was planning on installing the door window motor connection. What I found was the connector for the wiper motor and another brown wire. WI made the connection and tried the window they worked. Both wiring harness have this brown wire. When connected to the motor, that brown wire is 6" longer and taped into the harness. What is it and where does it go?


2ned question. As I was pulling the wiper motor threw the door, The courtesy switch has it's two wires that connect. I found another white wire i=near courtesy light are. The issue that i have is the courtesy light doesn't shut off when doors are closed. It worked and suddenly the light stays on, I thing the switch is no good and stay closed.

Your thought much appreciated.

On the door light switch you need to pull the barrel out all the way and then close the door on it thus resetting the barrel length automatically.
