I am not familiar with this produce and if the embedded text in your post is intended to link to something -- I can't make it work. I did google the battery but I can find no claim to manufacturer's location.

        Terry------

Odyssey batteries have been around for quite awhile. They make (or, at least used to make if they do not still) the Sears Die Hard Platinum Series batteries. They are excellent AGM batteries. However, they cost about twice as much as conventional lead acid batteries and I don't know if they are worth the extra cost.

As you mentioned, Johnson Controls and Exide are really the only major existing battery manufacturers and most other brands, including Delco, are manufactured by one or the other. However, as I've said before about many things, just because one or the other of these manufactures just about any brand that one might buy, that does not mean that they necessarily manufacture all of the batteries for all brands the same. The case may be the same but that does not mean that what's inside is the same. And, it's what's inside that counts.

For me, I go with AC Delco Gold batteries. They are usually reasonably priced and they have a good warranty. They are not the cheapest battery out there and they are not the most expensive. They last a reasonable amount of time. And, they just seem like the "right" battery to install in a Corvette.

I checked and the Sears Diehard Platinum Series battery is discontinued. I always wondered how Sears customers would support a battery of this cost and I guess now we have found out that they wouldn't. However, the Odyssey is still available.

Yes, Richmond, Kentucky is definitely in the USA. However, that's not where Odyssey batteries are manufactured, at least according to the company that manufactures them (and I'm very confident that the company that manufactures them knows where their manufacturing sites are). The company that manufactures Odyssey batteries is EnerSys. They say that Odyssey batteries are manufactured in three plants------Warransburg, MO, Newport Wales, UK, and Arras, France.

You are correct for the extreme battery that fits inside the DC12
