Starting to get ready to start engine installed in frame and had a question on the drain plug. These is a brass 90 with the letters G, a W with a line through it and another G stamped into the fitting Which, I believe is correct. Weird thing is the plug is steel (magnetic). Just wondering if Bubba found this on the floor when changing the antifreeze, Which he did not see to do very often based on the looks of the radiator when both end tanks were removed. What is the orientation of the 90 on the bottom of the radiator? Thanks for comments and/or suggestions. Steve Morrow

Re: 1969 350/350 Drain Plug Question
It would be better to remove the 90 elbow even if it is original. Trying to open the petcock with the elbow in place ofton causes the threaded fitting to tear off of the radiator. Put in a brass petcock and throw away the elbow.- Top

Page 188 of the current judging guide, picture 1.5 should answer your question.
Yes, the 90 degree elbow may be original, and I would not remove it.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS
