    1962 Front Spindle

    Does anyone know what the stock specs for a front spindle on 58-62 Corvette? Am looking for the diameter of spindle where inner race rides. As far as I have been able to search no one is reproducing these, please someone tell me I'm wrong!!
    Thanks

    Terry;
    Typically when a bearing turns on the race there is an area, there is still the stock diameter, that sits outside the inner race contact area that isn't worn. This can typically be measured with a micrometer to acquire the size.
    It is a pain but the measurement can also be acquired from the other spindle by pulling the wheel.
    I have had them sprayed up and ground back down to the correct diameter in the past.
    Expensive fix but it works great. I could check with motor rewinding shops for this service.
    With all the retro rods being modified for coil overs one would think you could find the part used.
    If I had the bearing number I may be able to find the specifications in the bearing engineering book.

            The process is called shaft metallizing. Check around at machine shops.
