Finally getting close to starting up engine in the completed frame but have a question on the Nuts that hold the Pulley Stack and the Fan Clutch Hub on the Stud. In the Assembly Manual, the Nut that holds the Pulley Stack against the Water Pump Hub is GM# 120368 and the Nut that holds the Fan Clutch Hub is is GM#9417954. Obvious, these is some difference in the Nuts since one has a 7 digit GM number and the other only a 6 digit number. Any clarification, information and/or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Steve Morrow

You've got the part numbers and their applications reversed. The GM #120368 was used to retain the fan blade assembly to the fan clutch. This nut is 5/16-24 and 17/64" thick. The GM #9417954 was used to retain the fan clutch to the water pump hub. It is 5/16-18 and 17/64" thick. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Question on 1969 350/350 Pulley and Fan Clutch Stud and Nut Assembly
Thanks for the reply. After looking at the Assemble Manual, which has to be the 10th copy of a copy, looking at the NCRS Guide again and bring the Fan/Hub Assemble out it made sense. Since the Fan and Hub are Bolted together the Stud with all Pulleys and Hub mounted on it made perfect sense. Thanks for taking time to respond. Steve- Top
