Did Quanta discontinue their semi-gloss black paint?

Just went online to order some more of Quanta's semi-gloss black, which I bought years ago and am now finally running out. I can't find it on the website. Anyone know if they discontinued it?

For durability, slow drying paints are the best.

John, What ever happened to the GM Black Reconditioning Paint? We used to buy it 4 Gallon cans to a case. Part #1050104.
Used for everything "Semi Gloss Black", from Frames to Ignition Coils, even dip painting small brackets.

                Barry------

The GM #1050104 is GM-discontinued. However, a licensed reproduction of it is available and easily obtained through a number of Corvette parts vendors. It's about 100 bucks/gallon.

This is what I call the "Ron Goduti Paint".

I think PPG made that for GM. I bought many a gallon of it from PPG,before I switched over to urethane, when it was available.

The enamel paints are slower to dry. You can mix a bit of hardener with the JD paint to speed up the drying time. But it is good paint either way.

Why not just buy this - https://www.globalindustrial.com/p/j...emi-flat-black
It's a perfect match to what the factory used and is lacquer so you can touch up at any time.
I've used it on several restorations. Here's a pic. of the latest.

                        Jim,

That paint looks great. Did you spray that engine bay with rattle cans? I can't get a rattle can to finish that evenly when I do such a large area. Also, I need semi-gloss for things like brackets and pulleys, so not sure that would work but I'm sure Krylon makes a semi-gloss in the same paint.

I just looked at my hour glass. There is a lot more sand at the bottom than at the top--- and I can't turn it over and start again!

I have had really good success with Krylon - semi flat. Used it on my 1967 roadster frame 17 years ago and it still looks great!
