    1968 Seat Bottom Bumper

My '69 seat bottom bumper (rubber) keeps getting destroyed by the seat upper bumper (plastic). I noticed '68 seat bottom bumpers appear to be aluminum. I would like to purchase the '68 style bottom but the Corvette repo houses don't seem to offer it. They only have the '69 rubber style bottom. Anyone know where I may be able to pick up the '68 aluminum style? Thanks, Chris

I just looked at my 68. The bumpers look like black rubber and have groves in them where the part on the seat back hits it. These are probably original but could have been changed before I owned it. I have owned it for 15 years and I know the entire interior is original. This car was built July 18, 1968.

Rich I just checked the JG and it says that the cad-plated metal type was used up to approximately SN 27000.

Hmmm, another update for the 68-69 TIM&JG.
