I never will forget the day one of those eBay trim tags was called at the Florida Regional. Well known FL dealer was showing the car. I don't remember all the particulars but when he questioned the judges one of the pulled out a copy of the flea bay auction and had his name as the buyer

Miss McD's event too. Still kicking myself for not picking up 997 heads for $250.00 and $150.00 for '57 3 speed and linkage. Oh well, back to trim tags.

Does this stand up as documentation to support “documentation proof” in this case in reverse as “documentation disapproval”?

No the owner never saw that add on the judging field. What happened is we told the owner what we suspected. We gave him a chance to tell us the truth. I told him after the event was over I was going to research our files and if I found what we suspected was the truth, I would suggest to the board of directors that he perminently be removed from NCRS. At that point he confessed what he had done, the car was branded. Case closed.

The last tag info on the 65 convertible has either a typo or is a repop. According to my directory, body #5023 could not have been produced on date code G 4. Couldn't find the tag on ebay either.

Mike can you tell us more about your 65 silver registry?

                    Thanks,

Re: C2 Trim Tag currently on Ebay

I started the 65 silver registry in 2007 after buying our first silver 65. 12 years later we have 280 cars on the list and I am always looking for more to add to it. Most tags are good, but I have found some NTP ones also. The last few years I have required having the picture of the tag or it doesn't get added to the list unless K.C. is judging the car and knows it is real.

I remember a A.O. Smith body '67 coupe that was attempting to be judged at the St. Louis Regional in 2006 that was claiming to be a 427/435.
