    Lectric Limited Plug Wires

Ten years ago I purchased a set of date coded plug wires for my 66 Convertible. The car ran fine and still does today with these wires. Back in 2011, I received a National Top Flight Award at the Novi National. I purchased a 65 coupe five years ago and also replaced the wire with LL plug wires. The car ran fine for a while and received a Chapter Top Flight award. However, a short time later, it started to miss. I replaced the coil and points/condenser but to no avail. I resistance tested the LL wires and found two to be open. I replace all of the wires with an aftermarket set and the car runs like champ.

Since I want to drive my 66 more now, I am considering removing the ten year old LL wires and replace them with AC wires.

PS- I read Mike McCagh's article on solid core vs. stranded wires.

Dave Kitch, If you want to listen to the radio then the good MD's wires are out.
Look for a set of NOS Delco wires 2987482.. Joe Lucia gave us this number long ago. (I think) John

Copper wires that are spiral wound should not hamper radio reception and still give good ignition.

You BBC guys with the shielded wire even works better.

Dave I did same that year +/- but those same LL wires caused same issues (new) you noted and old originals went back on.

Dave , make it real simple, use Delco D508 wires avaliable at most parts stores that handle Delco parts or on ebay a lot, I have attached a picture of my spare set.
I use them on small block c1 c2 vettes, picture attached, black wires with orange boots
