    Let's have some fun

I added the link above as an educational/judging example for some of our newer members. Take a look at all the pictures and post what you see as significantly incorrect.

    Enjoy

its a complete color change and a NOM priced a little high but it is a dealer but it looks fresh build. the add never claims any point of being correct. so I feel there is no need to pick it apart

Is it competing for Top Flight or Concours (or Cars & Coffee best in class)?

Seems the C21 Trim Tag, and listed VIN of 194676S115XXX don't appear to coincide.

Keith, not picking the car apart. I posted it as a learning tool for new members. I see the VIN and build date was caught and the color change. How about the interior?

Trim Tag says it's std. black vinyl.

Not significant, but 66 should not have an air cleaner decal.

One of the reasons I posted this is, I received a call from a person that wanted a car inspected in Massachusetts. I took him through the VIN tag, Trim Tag, Engine pad and where job numbers might be found. An educated buyer is best protected with knowledge. I've asked a chapter member that lives near the car to take a look. Appears to be a real car but it always needs an inspection.

Absolutely - there was a long whiny thread on that "other" forum about a Corvette newbie who bought a black C2 "as-is" and discovered AFTER THE SALE that the Trim Tag had been changed to match the repaint. It was an originally white car and the seller offered to provide the original Trim Tag to the buyer.

It got ugly but a $4K "out-of-court" settlement was reached to compensate the buyer. A lot of drama that could have been avoided with a competent inspection...
