My driver's door lock quit working. The button on the outside would push in but no resistance was felt.
Same with the inside door opener. This had been sticking for a while but always opened. The lock just failed and I was lucky to get the door opened again. I attempted to figure out the issue with the lock "in-place" with no luck. So I pulled the lock. This is what I found and how I repaired it.
A quick note:
An item to check if you have your door locks out in you C2.
Sure is a quick fix if they are on the bench. And a PITA if you have to do it a second time!
(Like I did)
The yolk is retained by a shaft that is peened over onto the backing plate.

The peened shaft had loosened and allowed the actuator to lift and the yolk to slide under it.
Pictured below;

I removed the lock and supported the back of the shaft and re-peened the axle shaft till it tightened up.
Everything worked fine after that. One could tack weld it, on the back side, if you were worried about it coming loose again.
I didn't weld mine.
This was a mess to remove as the lock had lube all over it. Pictures were taken after I cleaned it up.
Reinstalled it dry and re-lubed it with spray lubricant after I was finished.
Check it first! If it's loose tighten it up so you avoid my fiasco.
