Says Can Am white. 70 White is Classic White. My 70 was repainted Classic white a number of years ago. Paint is not cheap thanks to the government.

Right you are Bill since most of the ingredients come from China it will be more expensive in the future. Get it wile it is cheap.

Try pricing red paint. It is more expensive.

Doing a body, strip, fill, sanding, straighten, epoxy, prime, seal, sand, finish sand, cut/buff, with repaint the cost of the finish paint is one of your least worries.

I can suggest single stage to cut $$$$ a little bit and not have the bc/cc look.

If you still have the paint on the car, I would have your painter color match it before you pay the big $ for a full batch of it.
What the paint store tells you is close and what is ACTUALLY close are usually not the same.

May I add to what Patrick suggests. There is likely original paint behind the door panels that will not have been subjected to the elements and might provide the best match.

I can speak from experience when I say that matching white is tough. Took several attempts to get my 70 close. One of the reasons is that GM used 55 gallon drums of paint and in the case of classic white there are just traces of blue and other tints that are quite minute when mixing just a gallon of paint.

I want to say it took about 10 spray cards to get it close on my 70.

                Have fun

Ron you should not need 1.5 gallons, we normally mix 3 quarts for an entire car. A gallon should be plenty. That is a single stage color.

Bill, I know exactly what you mean James and I think did at least that many matching up my light copper metallic (gold) 73 Camaro. Paint is not cheap.
