    64 Head light bezels

Are the J clips that hold on the head light bezels painted body color, and are the lower screws black or chrome.
    Thanks

    Surprised nobody helping!
I checked my black 64, can not see J clips, the lower screws are black oxide while the small side ones appear to be natural. Naturally I've changed the head lamps multiple times so who knows if I put correct screws back in, usually was pretty good with using the original stuff to re assemble. Since I purchase it in 1967 bet the lamps were original, hope somebody chimes in with the real story.

Remembered that somebody (old GM worker) mentioned the bezels were painted off the car, possibly on the drives floor. Know the buckets were on the car for painting - perhaps the clips were also ?

I don't know what the J clips are. We look for tiny shiny silver (chrome?) screws up, and black (phosphate?) screws below.

Michael, you may have a 63 bezel - take a look at these please and compare to yours
        63 - 67 had the two #8-18 X 1/2 type BA bottom screws
but NO #32 X 1/2 type C side screws which later cars did.

You will notice that in 63 the two bottom screws (#8-18 X 1/2 type BA) were held in by (J or U nuts) shown as N.L. NUT while later years did not have.
Found the bezel at Sec 12 sheet A2.00 in 63 &64 AIM The 63 AIM picture is troubling since it show a side screw however it is listed as the same for the bottom screws, if that was used on the side it would probably hit the glass side?
I found the early pn 3770549 in some 62 dated books which have it as Oval Cr., Recess No. 6 Hd (type A) #8-15 X 1/2 chrome however unable to find the later 63 or 64 pn to confirm later finish of chrome (bet GM would just leave it the same "chrome" however the head size may have changed?)

According to the1964 judging guide (and this is what LIC and a few others are selling) - the two Phillip head screws that go into the sides are black phosphorous, the two Phillip screws that go into the bottom of the bezel are bright metal - likely zinc plated. And..... the screws are different sizes, the black ones are smaller (shorter) than the zinc ones.
