I guess I'm living a charmed life. My Mobil 1 fed LS5 only had two leak issues: Valve covers (which I finally conquered) and the oil drain plug (which tend to leak on Chevys with any type of oil).

LS engines are normally as dry as a "dust fart". They were designed for synthetic oils

They will leak at the drain plug if you don't replace that rubber gasket/insert with each oil change.
        Ask how I know.

I replace it (GM #14090908) every oil change and they still leak.

I use Loctite PST on the oil pan drain plug threads and stop the leaks. Our Yukon has 100,000 miles on it and not even a damp spot anywhere.

I've tried that, too, after I scrupulously cleaned the threads in the pan and on the plug. Didn't work for me.

The only Corvette I have owned that does NOT leak is my current 96 LT-1. Every C-1 and C-2 leaked oil.

                  Dick,

To clarify, I have an LS5 454 which is a first gen big block, not an LS engine.
