The codes on my wheels are K31 then 8 with a 18 and YA on the other side. Can someone tell me what they are? Came off my 65.

Re: Wheels-what do I have?
The only "YA" coded wheels I have record of are 14 X 7 wheels used for some 1969-70 Camaros, Chevelles, and Chevy II. Are your wheels 14"? I would not think that 14" wheels would fit on a Corvette with disc brakes.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Wheels-what do I have?
Yes, it should have that if they're original. However, "JK" is not a specific wheel code. It was used on many different wheels. It denotes the rim configuration of the wheel.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Wheels-what do I have?
Bob,
I have to agree with Joe L.
The stampings can be decoded as follows:
"K31"
K = Kelsey-Hayes, the manufacturer
3 = Philadelphia, PA
1 = 1971
8 = August
18 = 18th day of the month
"YA" = code for 14" X 7"
This wheel is listed for 1970 Chevelle SS models in the "1970-75 by the Numbers" by Alan L. Colvin as well as 1969 Camaro SS and Nova models in "1965-69 Chevrolet by the numbers".
Somewhere on the wheel there should be a stamping indication the size (examples "14 X 7", "14 X 7 JJ", "14 X 6 JK", "15 X 7 JJ").
Is you Corvette an "early" 1965? As best as I can remember I think that "early" 1965's came with drum brakes.
If this is a 14" X 7" wheel the GROSS outside diameter of the wheel should measure about 15" and the GROSS width should measure about 8".
A 15" X 7" wheel will measure about 16" (GROSS outside diameter) and about 8" (GROSS width).
If your wheel is truly a 15" wheel I will be totally baffled.......or......it could be an error when the wheel was stamped.
There is a 1969 Camaro "YA" rally wheel (14" X 7") dated Dec. 10, 1968, currently on Ebay (clicked on Ebay item number below).
