1977 Strut Rods

Do the strut rods on one end have a twist built in to them? Did the ends (OD) have two sizes? Would the optional FE7 have any bearing on end od size? Do all C3 have the same size of OD?

There is no twist in the ends in relation to one another. Early rods pre 1974 have smaller diameter ends than ones 1974-1982 with larger ends.

1963-74 used strut rods with 1-1/4" bushings. 1975-82 used strut rods with 1-3/8" bushings. Late 1974 may have used the larger bushing size.

The 1980-82 rods, GM #14010399, had one end that was "angled" and not perpendicular to the rod.

Were the 80-82 rods made out of steel or a different metal? The reason i ask is because i have the slightly off set on both rods i purchased and it is steel and came off a 1977 corvette. (this is what i was told)

All 63-82 strut rods were forged steel. The 1980-82 strut rods could not be used on a 1977. Post pictures of what you have and maybe we can advise.
