Has anyone actually measured how much gas a 1960 gas tank holds in total. Also is the fill linear i.e. if the total depth is 12 inches is their 1.3 or whatever number of gallons per inch of fill. I have decided to calibrate my sending unit and this could same me a lot of time if someone already knows. May even try to do an article on it if I an successful. Thanks in advance

Read the MIRA Analysis and you'll see a brand new 61 read 3/4 full when the tank was topped off...- Top

Agreed. Most Chevys I owned back then would show over the full mark when full and would go way down below the empty mark before running out. I think it will be more of a trial and error than a math thing. Likely if you bend the float arm to read correct at full it will be way off at empty and vice versa. You may have to shorten the arm so it don't contact the top or the bottom of the tank too soon then adjust from there..
