    Hood latches 1956

I was just taking apart the hood latches that are bolted to the hood to get replated. After taking one sparred and head blasting, the first one had the Center stud was smooth all the way except for threads at bottom for mounting to plate. The second that I was going to take apart has a center stud that is threaded almost all the way to the top. It appears like it might have been plated with the gold coloured cad plating. What is correct. They both are original

I suspect the stud was threaded for improved hold down performance. I did it to mine some time ago for that reason. It works.

Originals were smooth, some later replacements were serrated per the JG.
