    1960 Antenna Length & Cable

Paragon and CC both sell Antenna assembly that is 45" however JM states length should be 52.5". Assuming the JM is correct has anyone found a 52.5 Antenna assembly out there. Also, various Antenna cable info states that a RG59 cable 75 ohms which is sold by both Paragon and CC is incorrect and won't work well and reference to a RG62 with a 93ohm coax is correct. However, again not finding this anywhere for sale either. Has anyone found one that works well with the original Wonderbar setup?

Wondering what you found out Russell. I too have a good reproduction however it doesn't extend as far as what the TIMJ says it should. Does anyone make a correct reproduction antenna or is there any vendor out there who can modify a reproduction?

So far, my research would tend to indicate that the TIMJ is incorrect with respect to this information. I have sent photos of my Antenna Mast to Paul Mazut today to see if he can confirm. Corvette Central catalog makes reference to the correct dimensions that they have used from an original antenna mast to reproduce the one they sell. So if I were you I would not modify your antenna but accept that the TIMJ might be incorrect until otherwise proved wrong.

Thanks very much Russell. I appreciate your advice and findings. Mine is better than the old one I had - the lower section lowers into the body as the TIMJ describes and when retracted, it's 9 1/4" long opposed to what the PV Judging Manual says - 5" to 6". The upper shaft is magnetic and the middle and lower are not plus it has the 1/4" ball and "ring". It just doesn't extend as far as the TIMJ says it should.
