    Exhaust Cleaning - Best Way

I have some staining on my carbon steel exhaust system that come from use. There is no rust on the system, just some staining. Any ideas on how to clean this system that's currently on the car?

    Thanks

    Gerald,

What kind of "staining"? You might try Evapo-Rust on some inconspicuous test area.

We had some stains on our 69 Camaro Z28 on the pipes. All we did is find some High Temp light colored paint and spotted in
the area's that had problems. It came out very nice. Larry

Blue Magic metal polish with 000-0000 steel wool. I can work magic on OEM side pipes with this process.

Ditto. Great system but requires patience.

Is this type of staining you've got and wish to clean up? These are original L82 78 mufflers I would like to clean-up as well.

Tom, FYI I purchased a can of pre-lube 19 from a place in Philadelphia for $15 which included shipping.

Tom, if you remove the rust it will just start again with fresh exposed metal to further accelerate the corrosion process.
