1969 A/C Compressor Limiter Fuse (or Alternative?)

Hi. We're working on completing our restoration. Did the A/C compressor for 1969 have a limiter fuse? If not, was it just wired directly? My mechanic thinks it did; it looks to me after researching like it wasn't added until 1972.

Would appreciate confirmation, please, either way. Great if someone could please also include a picture of it having been done correctly.

Thank you! I really appreciate it.

I do not think so for 1969 model year. I did a quick Google search for you and came up with this.

This 3 pin fuse is used in conjunction with a sensor on the rear of the A6 A/C compressor to blow if the system get to hot. The part # printing looks OEM.

A few other Google search results also confirmed the approx start date.........which is for the 1972 model year.

Perhaps others may have additional or different information.
