Warren, send me an e-mail at ed_hoffman@yahoo.com. I am a SoCal member and a C-1 judge, I would be more the glad to help you, as I have walked in your shoes and a life long residence of SoCal.

        Re: Restoration advice

If you aren't pursuing perfection but just want a nice restored car to drive then you can probably do this for a lot less. An out of state restorer could save you a lot of money and be well worth the cost to ship it. Last weekend we had a chapter meet and we saw 2 cars that were restored out of state (a C2 by Tony's Corvette Shop in Maryland and a C3 by Automotive Specialties in Texas) and they were very nice cars.

Warren, any chance you could post photo of the "Taiyo" aluminium plate?

            DON HOOPER said,
''the two restorers that quickly come to my mind are Steve Luvisi in Huntington Beach and Jeff Reade at American Motoring Memories in Culver City. Both are Corvette Specialists, do outstanding work, and will cost you an arm and a leg. There are other shops in the LA basin. If you haven't yet, you should join the So Cal chapter and inquire of the judging chairs, John and Bev Legate. They can give you good advice. Contact info for all chapters can be found under Contacts in the large tool bar above. Thank you for joining NCRS and using the Tech Discussion Board.''

JEFF PHONE IS 310-397-3800 SHOP. STEVE's phone is 714-596-5034 SHOP. Both great guys who each have done body off frame NCRS DUNTOV winners to just rebuilding a generator.
