We have a January 1957 with aluminum valve covers and 2 carburetors. Are judging points taken off if the valve covers have been polished?

For '57, the valve covers are assigned 25 pts for originality. If the finish is incorrect, that's a 20% deduction, or 5 pts. Interestingly, for C2 cars the valve covers are assigned 16 pts for originality. In any case, I think you can expect up to a 5-point deduct it your covers are obviously polished.
