    lift body

I have read and looked at the CD from Nolan Adams about taking off the body on my 66 conv. I have a lift in my garage. if i use the trap method, where do i place them? If i use my life, where do i put the arms under the body?

        Re: lift body

        Hi Mel,
I did add an large aluminum angle to secure the forward intersection of the long 4 x 4 to the short arm 4 x 4 out of the lift tube steel. My body did not have the front clip in place and that lack of weight made the back overhang want to rotate the body backwards off the assembly. I will post those photos tomorrow. I also used a tie down strap on both sides to secure the body to the lift arms.

        Thanks Greg

          Re: lift body

Forgive my ignorance, but did you add the "angle" bracket (the one that is routed into the 4x4). i have a 66 with 27,700 miles on it (i bought it in 1976 and the third owner) and only see the 3 stock body brackets. I am a motor head from the 60's and have done many rebuilds on many cars. Any help would be appreciated.
          Thank
          Mel

            Hi Mel,
I hope I was using the assembly manual as my guide to the number of brackets required for a 67; I an aware that the 63 , 64 and maybe 65 used 5 on each side. I will have to check my book to be sure. I replaced the steel sills and brackets 2 years ago and I will have to check to be sure. My old sills only had two hanger brackets each side.
