Mid year Ignition shielding
The tabs on the front of both the small block and big block mid year shielding. What are they for and what is proper installed position?

If you are talking about the chrome "sawtooth" tab, it is there to ground the aircleaner base. It will ride against the base lip. The ends will be pointing down..... It is shown in the lower right corner of this photo. It is held on the shielding with 2 rivets.
