Question on the vacuum hose kits available

    Guys,

I'm currently setting up the vacuum hoses for the WSW and HL and I purchased from one of the vendors a vacuum hose kit for my 69 4spd non-AC car. What I've discovered is that there are not enough of the color coded hoses to complete the task and some of the hoses are a little too long (when compared to my originals which I kept). Am I supposed to cut these hoses to have enough to complete the set? The problem is that even though some of them are long I don't think there is enough length that will allow me to cut them to make enough hoses to complete the set, especially for the hoses that run behind the dash. Has anyone had a similar problem? I guess the easy thing is to just order another set or even two to make sure I have enough hoses but wanted to make sure I wasn't making a mistake in how I'm using the set.

Any reason not to use your originals? Generally speaking they are probably better than any of the repros you could buy, and it's not hard to clean them up and reuse them.

Thanks Patrick. I've thought of that but I thought the older hoses might be brittle and prone to leak but I can start by cleaning them and seeing how they look and feel.

        Noted.

Where did you buy your repro hoses?
I've been partial to Doc Rebuild for those, and there is a difference in quality.

I bought them several years ago and only now putting them on (you know how that goes) but I'm 95% sure they were from Corvette America. I've ordered stuff from Doc Rebuild and as I get closer to finishing the car and finally using all the stuff I've ordered over the years I wish I had ordered more, if not all, from Doc Rebuild. I'll be ordering everything else I need from him that's for sure.

I suspect the CA kit is not sourced from him.
You may want to order the kit from him and resell what you have.
