1977 coolant overflow tank - sticker?

In reviewing the judging sheets on the 77 to prepare for the next event, there is a deduction for the coolant overflow tank noting "missing sticker." While I can find an orange Warning sticker for sale I cannot find one 1977 Corvette on the 'net with a warning sticker on the coolant overflow tank much less any other sticker. Every overflow tank is bare plastic. There are plenty on eBay to check as well as others elsewhere.

So was this a judging error? Or did every 1977 Corvette have this sticker fall off on day 2?

    Hi Patrick,
I can't say that I've seen the orange warning label we find on the 74 expansion tank GM #334117 on a 77 either. I'm sure you've seen many more than I have.
But looking into this a little the 77 AIM page UPC O Sheet B1 shows that a warning label Part # 551449 is to be applied to the expansion tank cap. Maybe this might be one of those items that falls into that "early vs late" production parts? This could be the label they were looking for. I believe the earlier 77's still have the two hoses going to the cap. I notice like you that all the vendors list the orange label for 74-77 cars. I found that Paragon sells both the # 551449 lid decal as well as the lid with decal for L77-82 cars. I read in the 78-79 TIM&JG this same label /lid is correct. Maybe these started to show up late 77. Not sure if the 77 your dealing with is an early or later car. I don't have a 75-77 TIM&JG to see if this is addressed. You may already know all this, but just trying to shed some light.

This would be an early 77. It only has 20000 miles, and I would not expect that it would have fallen off. I see no evidence of residue on the cap either where this would have been.

The owner is getting me the JG. I did not see cap stickers on any car either when looking at photos.

FWIW here's a pic of a 77 expansion tank w/ label, from the 73-77 Vette Vues Dobbins Fact Book.

Interesting. I will have to look for residue.
It's an obvious sticker, and as noted I have not seen any on cars.

I did buy a replacement just in case, but I hate to add it if it's not correct for a Nov 76 build car.
