If you read my March 10 post you should realize that the B26 recommendation is for L-79. Read my March 8 post.

All mechanical lifter small blocks need a 8" B28, and I listed the Airtex art number in my March 8 post. Standard Motor Products discontinued manufacture of the B28 several years ago and AFAIK Airtex is the only "brand" that has remaining stock.

When you get the B28 VAC installed, let us know if it solves the idle instability problem. It can be replaced without removing the distributor, but it would be a good idea to pull in and do a "blueprint overhaul" and install lighter centrifugal springs.

To install on the car, pump down the VAC to maximum travel. Remove the two screws and carefully wiggle the pin out of the breaker plate. Pump down the B28, wiggle the pin into the breaker plate and install the screws.
