Ken: Make sure the brand you buy was actually available on the Corvette in 1958!

Send me your email address for more on judging 1960 tires. midvette@mac.com

I just ordered a set of 670/15 Goodyears for my 1963 from Rusty Small.
          His number is 816-654-3400.
Saved $10 off the price of each tire compared to Kelsey internet site and received free shipping that wasn't offered on the Corporate Site.
The shipping alone saved me over $100.oo.
The tires were manufactured in Pennsylvania!
          Might give Rusty a try.

Thanks Richard I'll do that.I'm just waiting for the 8th edition of the judging manual and in there it will specify exactly what's acceptable wrt judging. the last ed. I have calls for Uniroyal, BBF Goodrich silverwood or Firestone . They don't mention Goodyear but everyone here says Goodyear is acceptable . Thanks again Ken

Ken, The 5th Edition (newest - just out) of the JRM lists: Firestone "Deluxe Champion", B.F. Goodrich "Silvertown", U.S. Royal "Safety-8", & Firestone 500 as acceptable. Don H.

Don & Ken: i was just gong to type something like Don entered above. My source is page 43 of the old manual (4th ed.) which has a yellow cover.

There are some "tire style names" that differ, but Goodyear is not mentioned for '58-'60. (I know a guy who bought Goodyears and lost points because of the brand name).

For what it is worth, the Firestone 500 is a new addition in the new manual.
