Ignition switch bezel ? special tool

I am trying to remove this switch to obtain more working room at the fan switch behind the dash.
The bezel does not want to unscrew. In looking at it carefully there appear three depressions suggesting a special tool to tighten and untighten the bezel. What was used originally and what works now?

Assume it is the 1965 from your profile. LICS has this tool: LICS #55-43A. They also should have a picture of it on their website.

Many other Corvette Parts suppliers should also have.

In a pinch I've used one of those rubber jar lid removers from the kitchen when she wasn't looking.

Be sure of your year. Paragon lists two diff. parts, both look like small closed end wrenches on their web site.

Different removal tools: the bezels for some years have 3 indents; some years have 4 indents.

On some of these, 66's for sure, you also have to remove the lock cylinder before you can remove the bezel nut. Its simple, all you need is a paperclip. Straighten out one end of the clip, turn the key to the acc position, stick the paperclip into the small hole in the face of the lock cylinder to depress a little brass plunger under there and turn the key left a bit more and the cylinder will pull right out. If you are replacing the bezel nut with a new one, go ahead and use a vise grip on the old one if needed. Use the right pronged tool to tighten up the new nut or remove a nut you want to reuse.
