    Joe:

In San Diego, CA, "America's Tire" is still referred to as "Discount Tire".

Yes, I just discovered that San Diego County is the only area of California where the brand Discount Tire is used. All other areas use America's Tire.

If you have a pick-up or van available to bring the tires/wheels to/from the tire shop, this is not a bad way to go. All sorts of problems can be avoided, some having nothing to do with tires/wheels. This also gives one the opportunity to check one's brake pads and rotors.
We don't have a truck or van, but use the old Caddy. Two tires fit in the trunk and two on the back seat floor.

Especially with knock off wheels, I don't trust anyone. I've always removed the wheels at home and bring them to my friend's shop in my p/u truck for tire removal/mounting.

Never had a problem with Discount Tires on 4 Corvettes. They love seeing the cars.
