1957 Trunk emblem and scoop nuts

In late 1957 did the trunk emblem and scoop nuts changed to the flat rectangular nuts instead of the round green nuts . Paragon and Corvette Central sell different ones . Corvette Central are on the left and Paragon's are on the right and smaller . Were they covered in dum dum

I believe that the round green speed nuts were used on the 57. I also think that there was a small rubber washer between the speed nut and fiberglass.

You might want to recheck your research to be sure re: nuts. Type A push on spring nuts were utilized on both emblem and scoops until AIM change 04/30/57. The spring nut used on the emblem was 29/64 long x 15/64 wide it was rustproof. The scoop spring nut was 37/64 long x 5/16 wide it was phosphate finished. The difference was due to the studs being a different size. Your guess when the change came about on the line.

Rubber washer under nut 1174636 (a Buick part #) no problem. Having a little trouble finding a rubber washer under Type A push on spring nuts. Is there a page reference to show this in the AIM?

                David,

From the AIM, both the scoop (Sect 11, sht 1) and emblem (Sect E, sht 1) show the same Type A spring nuts prior to 4/30/57, p/n 445159. Both changed to 1174636 on 4/30/57. Prior to 4/30 scoops had add'l "cement" 466943, no other items at rear emblem. If both locations used the same 445159 clip, which of the dimensions you listed in your earlier post would be correct? Thanks for your continuing help with detailed information.

Agree with your explanation, we are on the same page! No rubber washer under the Type A push on spring nut
                      Part # 445159 is 37/64 length
                      5/16 wide
                      .014 thick phosphate
Mentioned #445189 because it is listed in the '57 Parts Catalog Grp. 8.147
