this pump showed up on a local classified site. does this pump have any value or use to a production line pump? can the inside working parts be transferred into a original. or are the rebuild kits on the market up to pair?

Re: later service 40083 fuel pump
As Gary stated, the pumps like that pictured are still available. Below is a picture of the current 40083 pumps and an original. Note the red arrows pointing out the bosses and the step in the side on the original, plus the 40083 stamped into the mounting flange.

Re: later service 40083 fuel pump
My guess, and its only a guess, is yes. If you got the new current 40083 at a good price you should be able to use all the internals to rebuild an early original 40083.
The rebuild kits are about $50. I can't remember where I purchased the one I used, but the major parts I needed were fine. I reused things like the pin (original is very easy to tell from the ones in kits. Also I used the original diaphragm spring since I read that some of the kit springs could cause to much fuel pressure.Don Harris
