1967 BB 390hp; fuel filter???

Was there a fuel filter on these cars; either before the fuel pump or after the fuel pump? I noticed the carb (Holley carb 3811) inlet fitting has a fuel filter as it enters the bowl. Is this sufficient?

While 1967 L-36 used no external, in-line fuel filter, 1968-69 Corvettes with L-36 did use such a filter in addition to the carb inlet filter. For the 1968-69 applications the external filter served a dual purpose as it also provided the origin point for the fuel return line to the fuel tank. Beginning with the 1970 model year, the fuel return line originated from the fuel pump for all Corvette engine applications except LT-1 and LS-6. After 1969 an external fuel filter was not used again on a Corvette until 1982, a practice that then continued through the end of the C5 generation. C6 and later use no external fuel filter.
