    vacuum advance tube clip

    I need a vacuum advance line tube clip for a 70 LS5. This is the one that is designed for two lines instead of one. Anyone know of a source? Thanks in advance.

    No reproductions I know about. Doc Rebuild's site show NOS for sale at one time, but now out of stock.

    No luck so far on eBay.

    I want one too, so let me know what you find.

      Related question: Was this clip installed before or after the engine was painted orange? If after, what type of finish/color is it?

        I had a chance to buy one about 10 years ago at the swap meet at Charlotte Speedway. It was with an intake setup and the guy wanted $50.00 for everything. Wouldn't separate. In hindsight I should have paid the money. There was one last week on Ebay with the tubes and a NOS TCS switch. I bid on it and in the last second went to $700.00. That one was greasy or unpainted. He did not have a good picture of it so I sent him a message and he confirmed it was the double clip.

          I believe it was installed before paint and thus should be orange, but perhaps someone with an original LS5 will enlighten us with certainty.

          BTW: If it has a part number int he AIM it was installed at St Louis and thus will not be orange. My AIMS are on loan for a greater cause, so I can't look it up.

            Can it be handmade with the correct thickness sheet metal, good cutting and bending tools, and a lot of patience ? You would probably have to borrow an original from someone to take measurements from, and to compare to, while you are crafting one. Even if it's not made perfectly, you'll have a functioning clip, and shouldn't lose a lot of points, as opposed to not having one at all.

                Thanks Gary;
                I was hoping someone was reproducing it. I will get one ordered. Will have to check to see if it is supposed to be painted.

                  Thanks Gary, you made my day. I ordered the kit with the clip and vacuum lines.

                    AIM points to the installed clip for reference, but the clip isn't in the parts list. I believe this suggests the clip was installed at Tonawanda.

                    This makes sense since it avoids St Louis from R/R an intake bolt which could cause problems.

                      All the original paint engines I have seen, they are painted orange. Very good picture in the 5th Edition TIM&JG.
