I noticed 307 written on the inside of my door with what looks like a P ahead of it. Was this the daily job number? Did this mean my car was the 307 car built on January 25, 1964? Any idea what the P stands for?

You have great eyes! I totally missed it, but now see it below the window crank.
So I am guessing it was some type of daily job number but not sure about the R?
My ‘66 has a similar number on the fiberglass under the gas tank- Top

Re: Daily Job Number
My 63 has the "334" number on both doors and the splash pan...no other digits/letters....it is my understanding that the daily job numbers went up to 500 each day....- Top

Re: Daily Job Number
The "307" is a typical job number for a St. Louis built body. No such thing as a "daily" job number. St. Louis used 1-500 and then started over again using the same sequence. A.O.Smith built body's used a letter prefix starting with "A" 1-500, then "B" 1-500 etc.

Re: Daily Job Number
You might also look on the passenger side outer footwell, my '64s also have the body number (364 in this one) there.
