1969 Female end Seat Belt Buckle Cover

This might be a long shot but I was wondering if anyone had any tips for safely removing the plastic latch cover for the female seat belt?

One of mine is missing a piece but the other one is in excellent shape. Since they aren't available in repop and have had no luck in sourcing an good original one, I would like to remove my good one, make a mold of it and repop one to replace my broken one. Yes it will be time consuming but my damaged one bugs me so I need to deal with it.

My biggest concern is to NOT damage the good one in removing it. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Greg,
There are 2 different covers for early and late and both appear to be available from Paragon (2414K early; 2415K late) except my recollection is that the grain is not the same as original. I have the early style and I removed it many years ago by gently heating it with a hair drier and it came off relatively easy.

Thanks Jeff. I had a look at the Paragon one and that is for the sleeve. What I'm looking for is the plastic latch cover that goes over the latch. Sorry for the confusion. Gotta love these unobtainable parts!

        Greg,
I'm not quite sure what cover you are referring to. Perhaps a picture of your good one might help.

          Greg,
Have you tried Charlie at Seatbelt Sity, 908-719-2354?
          Good luck,

The plastic latch cover was used on "early" style belts which had the round center button. However, these "early" style belts were used at least through mid-September, 1969 because that's what my car was originally equipped with.

Most component parts of the belts were never available from GM.
