Re: 1964 Horns
Pat,
The date code is across the edge of the horn from the part number. So it would be on the corner of the horn in the bottom right of your photo.
The date code will be stamped like the 3 digits following the cast numbers 9000

Sorry,
I misunderstood your note. I get it now. I will look at the other flat on the horn across from the part number. Will probably have to take off the horn to check that. I am pretty sure these are original to the car however.- Top

Re: 1964 Horns
I am now going out to the workshop to look again at mine. My car has a Jan 25 1964 build date so I guess I am looking for a December 63 build date.- Top

Pat
That is what Alan has posted a picture of.
3M4 represents 4th week of December 1963.
The format is YMW or year, month and week of the month. 3M4 decodes as 3= 1963, M= December, as this is a Delco Remy part (Delco Remy usually didn't use the letter I for September so M=December) 4= the 4th week.- Top

Re: 1964 Horns
I finally got the date code off the drivers and passenger side side horns. I think they work. 3H3 drivers side and 3M4 passenger side. See below.
Should I put a light coat of paint over the date codes now?

Re: 1964 Horns
Patrick,
Yes, just give the a dusting of paint so to not fill up the embossed date code. Here are the date codes for my January 18th built '64 convertible, VIN 0925X. These were what the judges recorded during flight judging at the 2014 NCRS Nat'l. Convention.

James
