57 Hood Latch Cable Firewall Mount

Hi all,

Both my 1957's came in boxes and I want to put this mount for the hood latch cable on the firewall. The AIM figure is not all I need. Does the black clip go on the passenger compartment or engine compartment side of the firewall? I assume that the raised part goes away from the firewall.

I have a metal plate riveted to the firewall and one hole looks to fit the cable, but the other one is too small for the clutch screw unless i use a tap, in which case I wouldn't need the nut.

Any help would be appreciated!

I believe that the black clip would go on the firewall side. I also believe that two black clips go together to hold the cable.

Pics would be super. Mark says two on the outside, so i would guess that they attach back to back? The AIM shows the screw coming from the firewall side, but I always like to confirm the AIM.

Sounds like you must be in the upper midwest!
