    Lag bolt!

In working on my 1966 convertible, I've seen a lot of strange "repairs," but the most shocking so far was the lag bolt used for one of the battery tray mounting bolts. I seriously just stood there looking at it for a minute! I'm just hoping I don't find anything worse than that...

When my wife Reba bought "Kermit" I started looking closely at it. I swear someone was restoring an "A" Model, a farm tractor, and her 1972 Corvette all at the same time, dumped all the fasteners in a pile and just picked one up that looked like it might fit. I filled a gallon can with wrong fasteners.

Maybe they were left over after he was done with the dock and couldn’t bring himself to toss them.

I definitely could have used it on the deck I built last summer... If I'd only known!

Robert, I may have been able to help with your deck project. The 62 I am helping a friend with had a piece of 2X4 between the frame and body at the right rear body mount to "even up" some poor fiberglass repairs. Not pressure treated though, so maybe not. Chip.
