    Exhaust maniflold bolt head marking (unidentified) & 1963 License plate bumpers

    I ran across this bolt today.
    I went through the bolt bible and failed to identify it. (Corvette Chassis Restoration Guide)
    I am confident its a exhaust manifold bolt.
    It is 3/8 X 2-1/4 with the funny head marking that looks like a clutch head drive.
    Can anyone identify the bolt usage and year?
    I am sure it didn't come off of my 63, but?

    Second item;

    The bumper from the license plate holder. It is the bumper behind the plate.
    Seems the original is white while the replacement was black and the back of it looks quite different.

    The original. I was surprised I was able to remove it without tearing it.

    Replacement next to the original;

    I didn't want to pull the plate just to show the round end. Can't judge that half anyway!
    Is the color the same for all C2's.
    Does this match what others have found on there cars?
    It is possible this came from somewhere else but I am still confident I got this correct.

    Rich is that overspray or just aging due to sunlight on the rubber piece? The bolt I think is a 70'S era manifold bolt.

      Ed;
      Thanks for the input.
      It does look sun bleached. I don't know how behind the plate. And the car sat inside for over 40 years.
      I will do a scratch test and see. Good observations.
      Now you got me thinking, possibly it was bead blasted?

      In reverence to the bolt, I kept thinking old because of the condition. It would have been in the book. I believe you are correct on the decade. Should have been thinking up not down!

        Yes Richard that's the original however it should be black. Also though it was overspray.

            The bolt is an exhaust manifold bolt likely GM #3733130. No telling what year it came from. This bolt was used for many small blocks from about 1958 onward.

              I wanted to thank everyone again for the help.
              What I found out is it was over-spray, yup a couple of sharp eyes caught it.
              It wasn't my eyes, even with glasses I am not good close up.
              I better stick to usining magnification before I post anymore of these silly questions.
              Glad everyone was thinking outside the box for me this time.

              The reproduction's tit is not anything like the original in shape. National judges get to this level?
              Take care

                Rich, I don't think the judges are judging something like that that closely, if they saw it, there clearly is not any point value for something like this bumper as the same sometimes goes for nuts and bolts sometimes, notations are warrented, myself when I like see something like original fasteners.
