    1969 988 Burgundy

I'm in the middle of stripping and getting ready to paint my 69 L36 roadster, real nice original car, and the factory colour is burgundy, I've heard talk that it may be a metallic burgundy. It has had one quality strip and repaint in lacquer a long time ago , with no sign of any metallic in the paint. Just wondered if someone could clarify this for me.
Also I am looking for a drivers side door for this car as well if anyone has any leads.

It is listed on the Corvette paint chip guide as "metallic burgundy".

Listing equals not looking at a original paint chip if that code was a 66 color advise. I might have the formula and know where original lacquer is located

The 1969 Corvette burgundy was definitely a metallic paint. I don't think it had a really high metallic content, but it was metallic.

Thanks joe, going to have to dig into some paint codes and maybe spray out a few test panels.

The lacquer codes were as follows. These may or may not be cross-referenceable.

With Joe’s reply I assume it’s not a color that started with late C2, correct?
                    Ronald------

Never a C2 color although there were C2 colors that were somewhat similar.
