58 corvette color

Here is a picture of come letters in the 58 trunk area, would someone know what this color is?

Looks somewhat like ivory to me but that is not a '58 color.

"Ivory" means "White" exterior color.

Then if you scrape away the paint in that area, according to the only one I've seen, you will find "CHAR" in grease pencil.

They still used the word Ivory, even though it was technically called Snowcrest White.

According to Noland Adams GM factory workers have been calling any white color Ivory for years. Attached is what Nolan autographed in his book at the Southbury Conn meet (Oct 15,1988). Noland came out in the parking lot after the meet and videoed him scraping the paint on my 1960 Ermine white 1960 Corvette. The results Ivory.

I think the "white" upper trunk opening in the picture kinda gives it away.....IVORY.
