    Can you ID this tag?

I'm the 2nd owner (20+) years of a very original '64 convertible. Today I pulled the seats in preparation for new leather seat covers... and it's first replacement of carpet. When I pulled the seats and flipped them over, I noticed two small tags... One was wrapped loosely around one of the zig-zag springs on the passenger side, the other wrapped around the driver's side release cable (the one that spans the seat).

They have consecutive numbers, SG-3851646 and SG-3851645. Black metal. A single hole on one end that shows signs of originally having a hold down screw.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

Tags like those were attached to all seat bottoms from the factory. Probably the manufacturers part number.

These are the GM part numbers for the seat bottom frame assembly. Similar tags are found on Corvette seats for many model years.

Makes perfect sense! I was surprised to see the consecutive numbers... so I guess its more of a "production number" rather than a "part number".
          Thanks
