I'm Back...as the good Doc McCagh said, I should be home by this past Saturday and it held true...today is the first day that I feel somewhat like a person again after a day and a half at home being able to shower etc...and sit and respond here. I don't know how to express all my sincere thanks for all the prayers and outreaches of support...what actually happened was that the nurses and aides at the hospital said I complained too much and not to let the door hit my sorry butt on the way out...but in reality, I had the best group of docs and nurses that anyone could hope fore, so caring and gentle and concerned for your well-being and getting better...they all will get letters in their personnel files attesting to same. Back in 1974 my dad traveled to Houston, TX for the same surgery by Dr. Michael Debakey, one of the pioneers of this surgery. He was in the hospital for 3 weeks and had to stay local another week...and here it is just 34 yrs later and the surgery is being performed all over the world on a regular basis and my stay was less than 5 full days. Wishing everyone a very merry Christmas/Holiday season and a safe, healthy, and prosperous 2019.
