Chevrolet is Raising Prices on All Models of the 2019 Corvette

    Model
    Old Price New Price Increase
    Stingray Coupe $55,495 $55,900 $405
    Stingray Convertible $59,495 $60,400 $905
    Stingray Z51 Coupe $60,495 $60,900 $405
    Stingray Z51 Convertible $64,495 $65,400 $905
    Grand Sport Coupe $65,495 $65,900 $405
    Grand Sport Convertible $69,495 $70,400 $905
    Z06 Coupe $79,495 $80,900 $1,405
    Z06 Convertible $83,495 $85,400 $1,905
    ZR1 Coupe $118,900 $120,900 $2,000
    ZR1 Convertible $122,900 $125,400 $2,500
As you can see, the pricing changes affects those Corvettes more at the top of the performance pyramid than those at the bottom with $405 being the increase on the Stingray and Grand Sport coupes while the Z06 and ZR1 increased range from $1,405-$2,500. These prices above do not include $1,095 destination fee or the gas tax fees on the Z06 and ZR1.

Glad I ordered mine a year ago and had the price locked in, it is scheduled to be built in 3 weeks.

Considering the current inventory is right around 20,000 units its probably an incentive to push people to something on the ground that they can get a significant discount on, those buying ZR1's probably don't care about the extra charge, they already know its the best bang for the buck on the market.

I should add and anybody that has been to spring mountain knows the base Corvette far outshines the ZR1 for the difference in expenditure.

OK, perfect time to raise the price then, right?

Consider this . . . Chevrolet has X number of unsold C7s in dealer lots across the country, and is anticipating a build-out of that car in order to initiate production of the mid-engine C8. So, how to make existing cars in those dealer lots (with the older pricing on the sticker) more attractive while winding down production of brand-new, fresh-off-the-line cars which will feature the new, higher pricing? Hmmmmm, what to do?

Now granted, the increases are not excessive (well, maybe a bit for the high-zoot versions), but in all seriousness I would have been somewhat surprised if GM did NOT initiate a price increase. It may help nudge people to do what GM wants them to do. Just my opinion, of course.

Well, I guess everyone's motivation for purchasing things is different, but for me, raising prices on items that exist in oversupply does not make me want to purchase them.
