What is the best fluid to use for flushing out silicone brake fluid? Thanks, Don H.

To clean it out?

Denatured alcohol. It's what one of the Corvette brake companies used to recommend.

Are you doing a fluid change or do you want to convert to conventional DOT 3 or 4? Denatured alcohol is the proper solvent to flush out DOT 3 or 4 when converting to DOT 5 silicone, but I don't think it is a proper solvent to flush out DOT 5, and I don't know what is.

Please explain your objective.

The silicone is in a power top system, I am going to use power steering fluid. Thanks for the replies. Don H.
