I have my top off and trying to install new weather striping. How do you install the rear piece of rubber, I install the cord and it just falls out. Do you glue it in and does the little lip go in the groove? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Jim - You didnt say, but do you have the entire top frame off the car and on the bench do to the rear weatherstrip seal? If not, I think you may have trouble using enough force to wedge the cord in place. Im not an expert, but have done several of them with modest success. I have only done it off the car on the bench. I took an old large screwdriver and ground the tip down to a smooth rounded point and used that to be able to really bear down on the cord and force it into place. Even then, be careful so you do not pierce the rubber. Also, a heat gun will help soften the rubber a bit more. It also helps to force the top into the groove first followed up by the weatherstrip. Two sets of hands is helpful for sure.
And some may not like this, but either soapy water or wd-40 on the frame, cord, weatherstrip to get it to slide into place can be helpful.
Good luck!
